It's about accepting yourself and others for who you are and not what you look like, own, or wear. It's about de-stressing, relaxing, getting back to innocence. When I sit on my back deck in the morning or evening, contemplating my surroundings, I really feel close to God. I feel my batteries being recharged.
Nudism is like going barefoot all over. After a rough day and you take your shoes off, you know how good your feet feel? That?s the same way the rest of you feels when you disrobe.
Surveys have proven that except for fears derived from artificial cultural taboos, over 85% of all Americans are at least sympathetic to nudists' beliefs. I hope this enlightens any who may not understand our way of shedding tension, aggression, and anxiety (medically proven). We have a lower divorce rate and strong family ties.
When nudists dispense with wearing clothes, we did not lose our common sense. We do wear something if chilled or sunburned and to prevent sunburn, usually wear sunscrean.

Women who are thinking of roaming around Maltese beaches topless should better be careful this coming season as a law which dates back to 1933 prohibiting “naked or indecent swim suits” is still in force.
Earlier this week a Maltese woman who was found guilty of swimming topless in 2006 at Gnejna Bay (Ghajn Tuffieha) lost an appeal she lodged in the Appeals Court. The confirmation of the sentence by the Appeals Court is validating a law set up in 1933 which law says that whoever exposes himself/herself naked or is wearing indecent bathing costumes should be condemned according to the criminal law. In November 2006, the woman was charged that on 20 August 2006 she was swimming naked or wearing indecent bathing costume at Gnejna Bay, breaching Article 38 of the criminal code. The Court had found the woman guilty and freed her on condition that she doesn't commit another crime in the space of a week. In her appeal case, the woman said that the fact that a woman is topless on a beach, especially a “hidden beach”, does not constitute a crime because the she was not naked. She argued that since a man is not naked when going around topless only with his private parts covered up, a woman should similarly not be considered naked when she is half naked. The Court in reaction argued that a topless woman on the beach is still considered as indecent in the Maltese society and thus the courts have nothing to decide upon except whether the woman was topless or not. The Judge said that there is no doubt that despite the beach being “hidden” the place is still accessible and public to everyone.
Thus, by confirming the facts presented in the First Hall of Civil Courts, the Courts of Appeal was refusing the woman's appeal and confirming the judgement handed down in 2006.

PayPal's recent decision to revoke services to the Federation of Canadian Naturists reveals just how misunderstood nudists are in our society.
The e-commerce giant cancelled its subscription processing contract with the FCN at the end of March, claiming their club magazine takes nudity too far because it depicts naked minors.
"It's an incredibly ignorant stand that shows they haven't done their research as to what a naturist is," says Karen Grant, President of the Federation of Canadian Naturists.
"Child pornography is a very specific and sad part of our society right now. But this is not it. I'm a mother of two kids, and I wouldn't be a nudist if I felt my child were in any danger."
Like any special interest magazine, the FCN's publication, Going Natural, promotes a hobby or lifestyle, and provides information on holiday destinations, products and other tips relevant to that lifestyle.
"Yes, the magazine does carry some pictures of naked families, including children, but there's nothing pornographic or gratuitous about them. For some reason, in our culture the word 'nude' evokes sex. But is that the only reason we undress?" asks Grant, who lives in Edmonton.
PayPal says the content of the group's magazine is "obscene" and violates their acceptable user policy, according to e-mails sent by PayPal to FCN.
"PayPal prohibits all account holders from buying or selling any sexually oriented goods or services involving minors or made to appear to involve minors," says PayPal spokesperson Jamie Patricio.
"While we generally do allow nudist websites to accept payments with PayPal, when those sites feature children, we will typically take a stricter approach."
If you've ever skinny-dipped or lounged around at home in the buff, there's something to be said for letting it all hang out. As adults, many of us worry that our parts are imperfect: too big, too small, too stretched or too flabby. But young kids haven't yet learned to judge themselves so harshly. Intuitively, they know that being naked is perfectly natural. They take to it like fish to water, and embrace the freedom of being in their own skin, which is all too often lost as one grows up.
That is why, as a society, we celebrate childlike innocence, and why we protect it tooth-and-nail from the ugly realities in life, like pedophiles or child predators. But is PayPal taking things too far?
While one long-time member of a local nudist association applauds our society's desire to guard children against exploitation, he says this is a case of misplaced concern.
"I don't know if PayPal did it out of political correctness, but someone thought, 'adults and kids -- nude? Uh-oh. We don't want to be associated with that.' There will always be people who equate sex with nudity. No point in trying to explain your lifestyle to the closed-minded," says Perry, 48, a two-decade member of Helios Association in Tofield, Alberta.
"Lust," he adds, "is in the eye of the beholder, not in a naked child at play."
If so, then society's prurience can be summed up in a Google search for the words "naturism" or "nudist," which quickly inundates a person with pop-up windows hawking every nude sexual fantasy imaginable.
And it probably doesn't help that a magazine like Going Natural is the easiest legal access a pedophile has to nude material. But why should wholesome and family-oriented groups like FCN have to pay the price for others' ignorance or perversions?

Police have arrested three men who were caught swimming naked in the Adelaide Aquatic Centre this morning.
A police spokesman says a patrol was sent to the centre in Jeffcott Street at North Adelaide at about 3:00am after an alarm was activated.
They arrested an 18-year-old man from Henley Beach, a 21-year-old man from Greenacres, and a 23-year-old man from Queenstown.
They have been charged with being unlawfully on premises and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court at a later date.

Being without clothes is relaxing, liberating and only offensive if overtly sexual. There is a growing point of view that people should be allowed to clothes free on the beaches, in the pool, their own gardens and in secluded areas within parks and the countryside. In more open societies where nudity is regarded simply as an alternative mode of dress there are fewer sexual problems and far fewer unwanted pregnancies.
If you find nudity offensive for its own sake, ask yourself WHY. Those of us who happen to enjoy being clothes free accept that others prefer to be clothed.
